Age bands and the extra charge for transport to and from Fumba are set out in the operator’s FAQs. Its Original Experience page describes a dhow outing in the Menai Bay Conservation Area, guided snorkelling with equipment, sandbank and lagoon stops, a seafood meal and fruit, plus drinks and snacks. Confirm the arrangements for your date; a published itinerary does not guarantee every stop or a wildlife sighting.

Worked example: two adults and one eight-year-old would total US$215 for the advertised tour places: US$85 + US$85 + US$45. Add the transport quote and any separately agreed extras to reach your booking total. This is arithmetic using the published rates, not an offer or reservation.

Make sure you are comparing the same trip

The operator presents Safari Blue as its registered brand. If you want that specific company’s product, confirm the operating company and booking confirmation rather than relying on a broadly similar tour name. Another Menai Bay boat trip may have a different itinerary, vessel, meal, group size or cancellation policy. Compare those details on their own merits. Source: the operator’s product page.

Safari Blue also advertises a private-group Bubble Boat following its standard itinerary, and a customisable Private Charter. A private boat does not by itself tell you whether the itinerary, restaurant or stops are exclusive. Ask which elements are private and request the full price for your group. Source: operator FAQs.

When comparing offers, put the operator, exact product, boat arrangements, departure point, transport, food, equipment and cancellation terms side by side. A lower headline price can still be a different product; decide whether its actual inclusions suit you.

Questions to ask before you pay

Timing and transport

Confirm the check-in time, departure location, expected return window and pickup arrangement for your hotel. Ask who coordinates the transfer if the boat schedule changes. If you plan to change hotels that day, ask whether luggage can be carried and stored, and request written confirmation of your destination after the tour.

Children, swimming and access

Give each child’s age and say who cannot swim confidently. Ask about appropriately sized life jackets, supervision during water activities and whether someone can remain aboard. Explain any mobility needs and ask about boarding, getting ashore, toilet access and the surfaces you will encounter. A child price does not answer whether the day’s arrangements will suit your family.

Food requirements

The operator lists vegetarian food in its FAQ. That does not confirm separate preparation, allergy controls or a particular Jain requirement. Describe exactly what you need, ask how it will be prepared and get a reply before booking. Source: food information in the FAQs.

Weather, changes and cancellation

Ask what happens if the operator cancels, if the route changes, or if you decide not to travel. Check the cancellation deadline, refund method, rescheduling options and whether the transport charge follows the same rules as the tour. Keep the terms that applied when you paid.

The final amount

Request one total covering your party, chosen product and transfers, with currency and payment method stated. Ask whether any fees or optional purchases sit outside that total. Do not infer a future rate from the date on this guide.

Where to check or book

Use the operator’s official booking portal to check the product and travel date, or its contact page for questions about the service. Booking terms and payment instructions should come from the company taking your reservation.

If your question is about fitting the day into a wider trip, send YourZanzibar a planning enquiry. This does not reserve a tour or establish that YourZanzibar can supply it.

How we make money: we earn a booking commission on some listings here (hotels 10-15%, experiences 15-20%). It never changes the price you pay and we do not hold rate parity. We do not list operators on our environmental exclusion list at any price.
